I’m still unsure of why it’s called ‘morning sickness’ because lets face it, it can crop up at any time and it’s usually very inconvenient! That sicky feeling is a rite of passage for many pregnant Mama’s & I absolutely feel your pain because I was there too, but fear not, I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve to help you combat this queasy morning foe!

1. Ginger Magic
Ginger has this magical power to calm down an upset tummy and make those queasy feelings a lot more manageable. Whether it's in the form of ginger tea, ginger biscuits, or even ginger candies, it can really make a difference. Plus, it's au-natural and inexpensive, which is a bonus and it's even backed by science. So first and foremost give ginger a try and let it work its wonders!

2. Snacks, Snacks & More Snacks!
Say hello to your new best friend: grazing! Keep your tummy happier by munching on small, light meals throughout your day. Be mindful of what you’re snacking on though as your body needs all the nutrition it can get for your growing baby! You only need an extra 300 calories a day so a variety of fruit, veggies and nuts are great options.

3. Hydration
Staying hydrated is just good in general when pregnant but it’s super helpful at keeping that sickness at arms-length. Water, herbal teas, and clear broths can be your trusty allies. Repeat this mantra after me… “Sipping fluids through the day keeps the nausea at bay”
P.s Bone broth is PACKED full of nutrients and would be great thing for you to drink too!

4. Fresh Air and Sunshine
Nature’s cure! Take yourself outside for a walk, breathe in some fresh air & even whip those shoes off for a little grounding if it’s warm enough. Sometimes, a change of scenery and some Vitamin D can do wonders for those queasy vibes.

5. Amazing Aromatherapy
Essential oils can be your pregnancy pal (some may even help induce labour but that’s for another blog). A whiff of peppermint or lemon can help ease nausea. Just a little dab on a tissue or in a difuser, and Bobs your uncle! Breathe in those calming scents.

6. Rest & Relaxation
Listen to your body when it says, "Hey, I need a break!" A little R&R can do wonders for morning sickness. So, grab a cozy blanket, put your feet up & pop your headphones on to listen to a relaxing MP3 script that you got from your Hypnobirthing Course. Switch off, relax & take a moment for yourself!
Every pregnancy journey is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. Experiment, find what tickles your fancy (or your taste buds), and embrace the journey of growing a small human. Morning sickness may knock on your door, but armed with these tips, you're ready to send it packing! Here's to happy mornings and a fabulous pregnancy! 🌼🤰
